Document Version – 1.1

1. Commitment to achieving Net Zero

CWS Engineering Ltd commits to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions from its UK operations by 2050 at the latest, subject to formal confirmation and approval by the company's director.

As an engineering business, CWS Engineering Ltd recognises the importance of
reducing the environmental impact of its operations, energy consumption, company vehicles, procurement activities and contract delivery.

The company will work towards reducing emissions through improved energy
efficiency, responsible resource use, effective waste management, efficient transport
planning and engagement with suppliers and subcontractors.

2. Baseline emissions footprint

Baseline year: April 2025 – March 2026

The baseline will establish the reference point against which future emissions
reductions will be measured. If no previous carbon footprint has been prepared, the first completed reporting period will be used as the baseline.

Emissions will be calculated using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate
Accounting and Reporting Standard and appropriate UK Government greenhouse
gas conversion factors.

Baseline emissions summary

Scope 3 – Fuel & Energy Related Activities                                                                      42.82
Scope 3 – Waste Generated in Operations                                                                         3.33
Scope 3 – Business Travel                                                                                                   7.30
Scope 3 – Employee Commuting                                                                                        0.41
Total emissions                                                                                                               1155.75

Calculation methodology and assumptions

Company fuel records, vehicle mileage and fuel consumption data, electricity and gas
bills, and available information on the required Scope 3 categories will be used to
calculate the baseline footprint.

The organisational boundary, reporting period, data sources, conversion factors,
assumptions and any exclusions will be documented as part of the calculation
process.

3. Current emissions reporting

Reporting year: April 2026 – March 2027

CWS Engineering Ltd will report its current emissions using the same reporting
boundary and calculation methodology as the baseline, wherever practicable.

Emissions category                                                                 Total (tCO₂e)
Scope 1 – Direct emissions                                                   [To calculate]
Scope 2 – Purchased energy                                                [To calculate]
Scope 3 – Upstream transportation and distribution            [To calculate]
Scope 3 – Waste generated in operations                            [To calculate]
Scope 3 – Business travel                                                     [To calculate]
Scope 3 – Employee commuting                                          [To calculate]
Scope 3 – Downstream transportation and distribution        [To calculate]
Total emissions                                                                      [To calculate]

Emissions will be reported in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e). Where
data is incomplete, the company will document the limitation and use an appropriate
calculation method based on the best available evidence.

4. Emissions reduction targets

CWS Engineering Ltd intends to establish measurable emissions reduction targets
following completion of its baseline carbon footprint.

The company will:

• Use the verified baseline to identify its principal sources of greenhouse gas
emissions.
• Establish a measurable reduction target and target date, to be approved by
management.
• Monitor progress annually against the baseline.
• Review the effectiveness of reduction measures and identify further
opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain its commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050 at the latest,
following formal approval.
Approved near-term target: [To be confirmed following baseline calculation and
management approval.]

5. Environmental management measures

The following measures are proposed for adoption and use where appropriate to CWS Engineering Ltd's operations and the contracts it undertakes. Their current implementation status must be confirmed before publication.

Energy efficiency

• Monitor electricity and gas consumption.
• Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary energy use.
• Consider energy-efficient lighting, equipment and operational practices.

Vehicles and transport

• Monitor company vehicle fuel consumption and business mileage.
• Plan journeys efficiently to reduce unnecessary travel.
• Assess lower-emission vehicles and alternative transport options when
replacing vehicles.

Materials and procurement

• Consider material efficiency, durability and environmental performance when
procuring engineering materials and equipment.
• Reduce unnecessary material use and packaging.
• Engage suppliers on opportunities to reduce emissions associated with
purchased goods and transportation.

Waste management

• Prevent avoidable waste and improve segregation and recycling.
• Encourage reuse of suitable materials where technically appropriate.
• Monitor waste management information and identify opportunities to
improve resource efficiency.

Employees, suppliers and subcontractors

• Communicate relevant environmental responsibilities to employees.
• Encourage suppliers and subcontractors to identify practical carbon reduction
opportunities.
• Incorporate proportionate environmental considerations into relevant contract
planning and delivery.

These measures will be reviewed periodically, and their implementation will be
confirmed by management. No environmental certification or completed carbon
reduction initiative is claimed in this plan unless independently confirmed by the
company.

6. Monitoring and review

CWS Engineering Ltd will review this Carbon Reduction Plan annually and update it to reflect changes in emissions, operational activities, reduction targets and environmental management measures.

The company will maintain appropriate supporting records, including energy bills, vehicle and fuel records, calculation worksheets and relevant waste and transport information.

The plan will be reviewed and updated within six months of the company's financial year-end, in accordance with the applicable technical guidance.

7. Declaration and approval

CWS Engineering Ltd confirms its intention to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its UK operations and work towards Net Zero by 2050 at the latest.

This plan has been prepared with reference to UK Public Procurement Policy Note PPN 006 and its associated technical guidance. Final publication is subject to completion of the emissions calculations, confirmation of the company's environmental management measures and formal approval.
